Tournament Types

Guaranteed Tournaments

In guaranteed tournaments, the prize pool is guaranteed to reach a specified amount (ex: $8K GTD). Our guarantees range from $50 to $1,000,000.

Freezeout

A freezeout poker tournament is the purest form of poker. Players start with an equal amount of chips and are not able to re-enter.

Turbo Tournaments

Turbo tournaments are fast-paced variations of regular tournaments with shorter blind levels (They may be 1/3 or 1/2 that of regular tournaments) and give less time to act. We offer a variety of turbo tournaments ranging from satellites to daily guarantees.

Hyper-Turbo Tournaments

Hyper-Turbo events are even faster than Turbos. The length of each round is only 3 minutes. Hypers are a great way to win big prizes without big time investment.

6-Max (and 4-Max/7-Max/8-Max) Tournaments

“6-Max” in the tournament’s title indicates each table will be 6 seats, instead of the usual 8. Some games, such as Omaha and Short Deck, are traditionally played with 6 seats at the table.

Phased Tournaments

In a phased tournament, players can choose from different starting flights that begin at different times. Each starting phase is played for the same number of levels and all remaining players are combined in a single, larger tournament. Phased tournaments offer more flexibility and larger prize pools.

For example, a tournament might have Phase 1 flights every 3 hours from Monday to Sunday. Phase 2 might start on Sunday at 20:30. Please note, players may not direct register or unregister to Phase 2. You must be available to play Phase 2.

Progressive Bounty

In Progressive Bounties, a cash bounty is placed on every player. Each time you knock out a player, you win a prize. Most Progressive Bounties work like this:

  • 50% of the buy-in goes to the prize pool

  • 50% of the buy-in funds each player’s initial bounty

  • 50% of the bounty is progressive; when you knock a player out, you keep half their bounty value. The other half is added to your own bounty value

N-Stack Tournaments

In an N-Stack tournament, each player’s starting chips are divided into equal sized (“N”) stacks. Each player can decide how many stacks to start with, and how many to keep in reserve.

Each stack can be thought of as a ‘bullet.’ Stacks in reserve can be called into use at any time. A limited amount of time is available for players to add available stacks, specified in the tournament lobby. Any stacks not used by the end of that time are automatically added to your chip total.

Mystery Bounty

In a Mystery Bounty phased tournament, you can win huge cash prizes by knocking out opponents in the Final Stage [Phase 2]. Knock a player out to unlock a random bounty reward. Prizes range from a few hundred dollars to $100,000+.

Flipout Tournaments

In a Flipout event, every player is automatically put all-in on every hand until there is a winner. Flipouts are pure chance and require no action; players do not need to be logged in to win prizes.

Satellites

A satellite is a tournament where the prize is an entry into a larger tournament.

Satellites are offered in a wide variety of formats and speeds. Often, it can be less expensive to play a satellite than to register the main tournament directly.
